Meet Annemarie Ashton-Wyatt

Annemarie studied communications and digital design at Edith Cowan University. She achieved a First-Class Honours for a collaborative project using art therapy to assist family carers to re-enter the workforce.

After moving to Canberra, she worked for many years as an executive policy and research manager in the not-for-profit sector while completing post-graduate studies in social research at the Australian School of Demography, ANU. Key achievements included submissions to the Australian Government’s Inquiry into Better Support for Carers and the Productivity Commission Inquiry into Disability Care and Support.

Annemarie grew her career with several years as a Senior Researcher at the Regional Australia Institute working closely with the highest levels of government and business in Australia. She specialized in small population data analysis, regional competitiveness, and was lead author for several research reports.

Life-long interests in agriculture led to the establishment of a small alpaca farm in 2013, while also working as a sub-contractor for some of Australia’s most innovative consultancy companies. This has extended her knowledge of agribusiness and regional development.
